Arica is a great starting point for excursions in the North of Chile, discovering the beauty of the area with our experienced guides!
Arica is an excellent starting point for organizing excursions in the area, such as the Azapa Valley, home to a rich archaeological museum that houses an exceptional collection of finds from the 7th century BC., up to the Spanish invasion. At 10 km north of Arica you can see the pre-Columbian geogrids of Lluta. Continuing in the Lluta valley you can admire the beautiful mountain views and see where the candlesticks cactus grow. Arriving at Copaquilla, overlooking a spectacular canyon, stands the Pukarà de Copaquilla fortress, built to protect indie crops on the valley floor.
