SURFING IN NICARAGUA

Central America, Nicaragua

All of Nicaragua's Pacific coast is exposed to the Antarctic swells that reach maximum power in the months between April and October. What characterizes the Surf in Nicaragua is definitely the constant Off-Shore wind, the low accessibility of the spots (it is necessary to have a surf guide and the appropriate means of transport like a 4x4 and a boat) that determines the little crowd and the amount of waves for everyone, often beach breaks, but of the highest quality!

From November to March, however, there are waves of excellent quality, smaller but always with off shore wind, so clean and perfect!

In the south coast, bordering Costa Rica, the area of San Juan Del Sur is the only coastal area more "touristy", with clear and beautiful water and large tropical beaches.

Around Popoyo area, certainly the most famous for surfing, we find world-famous spots such as the outer reef of Popoyo, Colorado, Vera Cruz, etc.

The North Coast is the most unknown and deserted one, surely offering waves of difficult access but of the highest quality, like Miramar!
