Surfing in Mentawai is possible all year long. The best period is from april to october, when the surf is very consistent. From november to march waves are  smaller but absolutly playfoul.

Most of the surfing spots are suitable to intermediate and advance surfers. Each spot is monitorized by a professional and experienced staff, in order to  score the right spot at the right time.
Depending on wind and  swell directions and according to crowd conditions, sometimes it is even possible to surf the whole day the same spot!  All the boats patrolling the  Mentawai are anyway in connection to provide  the most uncrowded possible situations.

Different periods request different skills:  from april to october supreme conditions and big swells suite the needs of  intermediate and advanced surfers  (anyway if the swell is huge it is always possible to surf more protected spots) . From november to march instead the area provides a very playfoul surf perfect for any kind of surfer, except  the absolute beginners.
