The first surfer who came and surf this island called it “a paradise on earth”, and it is really true if we are talking about Sorake reef break, which is  considered the most perfect  right hander in the world:  for this reason every year a WQS Tour contest  is hold in Lagundry Bay.
Each surfer which will come and surf here will have to be to mentally prepared for the leaving day... this is really paradise on earth!

Lagundry Bay has always attracted  surfers from all over the world for its beautifoul white sand beaches and its perfect waves (after the 2004 tsunami the beach has notably pulled out but all the surfers,  including Kelly Slater himself, say that this has even improved the wave quality).      You can surf huge waves in Lagundry, 10 -15 ft faces, and this and its perfection  is why the Sorake break is considered one of the 10 best waves in the world!
