SURFING IN PANAMA PLAYA VENAO

While Playa Venao has earned the title of one of the best surf spots in Panama, the surrounding area has some lesser-known spots that definitely deserve an excursion.

Each spot described here is an hour's drive from our surf camp at Playa Venao. The best way to explore these spots is to get around with our surf guiding team. These guys (and girls) know the region better than anyone else - they can point out the best points and the time of the trip in order to get as much surf as possible. We move along the coast by 4x4 vehicles.

SPOTS PANAMA' - PLAYA VENAO AREA

Playa Venao One of Panama's mythical spots on the Pacific coast. Spot on sandy bottom, suitable for all levels. Often home to national and international surfing competitions.

Playa Guanico Just 40 minutes south-west of Playa Venao is Playa Guanico, a sandy beach with a beach break and a point break. Spots suitable for all levels. Normally here the waves tend to be bigger than in Playa Venao.

Playa Cambutal About 25-30 minutes after Guanico (~ 1 hour from Playa Venao) is Playa Cambutal. With two powerful little point breaks. The first spot is called 411, which works better at high tide, while the other spot, Cuatro Secreto, is better at low tide.
