Central America, Costa Rica

One of the main surf base in Costa Rica is Tamarindo. The long beautiful beach at its centre is great for learning how to surf and there are more intermediate & advanced breaks close by, the breaks in the area are some of the best in the world, as evidenced by the several international surfing competitions held here every year. The beautiful beaches are popular thanks to the consistency of the waves, and the town is a perfect jumping-off location for beach and point breaks along the coast. The calmest water for swimming can be found on the southern end of the beach while the water just off the busiest part of town is best for surfing. The nearby river mouth offers breaks that are perfect for the more experienced surfers.

Playa Tamarindo

We all love surfing on Tamarindo beach because it's close, it's comfortable, it's fun and the waves are consistent. Here there is always some wave that breaks.

Playa Grande

A large and beautiful beach north of Tamarindo boasting solid and consistent waves. It is more a spot for intermediates and advanced with crashing waves, but also has numerous peaks so you can stay away from the crowd.

Playa Langosta

Just south of Tamarindo, this wave is quite powerful and can be really fun at high tide. There are many rocks and currents in this spot, so be sure to be cautious when you are here.

A wonderful beach with waves that can be surfed from the beginner to the advanced intermediate depending on the waves. There are several spots for all tastes here, including the famous Little Hawaii.

Playa Negra
