Just a 15-minute drive from downtown Lisbon across the Tagus River is the authentic and charming fishing village of Costa da Caparica. This beach is one of the most consistent surf spots in all of Portugal and offers perfect waves for surfers of all levels.
Costa da Caparica and the surrounding area boast of many beautiful white sand beaches and unspoiled nature surrounded by breathtaking cliffs. The forest you will find here is dominated by pine and lentisk trees and is part of the Arriba Fossil Botanical Reserve.
Due to its unique location we are blessed with great waves all year round. Most of the local beaches are divided by jetties that help catch the best waves and provide shelter on the windiest days. You’ll find people surfing, skateboarding, biking, jogging and working out in the free outdoor gym located right next to our surf school. Take one of our bikes or skateboards to the waterfront and explore the incredible views!
In downtown Caparica you will find plenty of surf stores and local markets to buy everything you need for your surf vacation. After surfing you can relax at one of the beach bars or try a local Portuguese dish at one of the nearby restaurants.
