The Mentawai archipelago consists of 4 major islands, Siberut, Sipura,Pagai Utara and Pagai Selatan, all west of Sumatra. There are many waves, ranging from the most famous in the world to still little-known spots.
The Mentawai archipelago in West Sumatra, offers an abundance of incredible waves and world class waves such as: HT’s, Maccaronis, Lance’s Left, Rifles, Greenbush, Telescopes, Nokanduis etc…
This area tends to be surfable year-round, but the best time for swell and consistency is from April to October. In the remaining months ( Nov – March) the waves come from further afield, tending to be smaller waves but always perfect and often not crowded or deserted as most resorts and charter boats close during this period except for a few boats such as KINGMILLENIUM I and II.
