This proposal is for those who want to stay overnight at our beachfront property in Arugam Bay, on the southeast coast of Sri Lanka, to enjoy one of the world’s most famous surf locations.

Or simply enjoy of the beautiful east coast and the proximity to typical tourist sites in the area, kovils and temples both Buddhist and Hindu, jungle bangs where you will find elephants, crocodiles and enchanting lagoons.

Arugam Bay is a fishing village on the southeast coast of Sri Lanka, nestled in the wilderness. It is not uncommon to encounter elephants on the beach while walking to the point!

The best season for surfing is from April to October, when the area’s world-famous right points provide endless waves.

How to Get There:

Sry Lanka is easily accessible from several Italian cities such as Milan and Rome, with international flights. In approx. 9 hours flight you can land at Colombo International Airport (CMB), about 7 hours from the camp by car.

From the airport:

Surfcamp airport shuttle: Upon request, we can offer you round-trip airport/camp transfer service with private surfcamp driver. The service has an extra charge of 175 euros (up to 5 people) and a duration of about 7 hours.

Cab: Reaching the camp by cab is convenient, although the ride is long (about 7 hours).

Public transport: You can use a series of buses or the famous coal train, but the speed of travel and connections will easily take you more than a day to get to Arugam Bay.

Health Care and Documents:

Italian citizens do not need a special visa to travel to Sri Lanka. It is recommended that you make several copies of your passport, in case the original is lost. Both public and private hospital facilities are of a good standard, we still recommend traveling with international travel insurance.
