How to Get There:

Costa Rica is easily accessible from several Italian cities such as Milan and Rome, with international flights. In approx. 8 hours flight you can land at San Jose’ International Airport (SJO), Costa Rica, about 5 hours from the camp by car; or land at Liberia Airport (1.5hrs from the camp by car).

From the airport:

Surfcamp shuttle: We offer shuttle service from Tamarindo, San Jose and Liberia airports.

Rental car: We recommend renting a car to get around Costa Rica.

Cab: Getting to surfcamp by cab from Tamarindo airport is convenient and fast, costing around US$10.

Public transportation: From the 7/10 bus terminal in San Jose, ask for the direct bus to Tamarindo operated by the Alfaro bus company (tickets start at $10).

Health Care and Documents:

Italian citizens do not need a special visa to travel to Costa Rica. We recommend making several copies of your passport, in case the original is lost. Both public and private hospital facilities are of a good standard; however, we recommend traveling with international travel insurance.
