Weligama is a bustling town located on the southern coast of Sri Lanka. Its name, meaning “sand village,” perfectly describes its long golden beach. It is ideal for those seeking the perfect mix of sports, relaxation and adventure.
Weligama Bay offers perfect waves for beginners and intermediate surfers, with a beach break that allows for rapid improvement. There are also numerous spots nearby that offer more powerful waves for more experienced surfers. The best time to surf is from October to April, when the sea is more stable and the weather is ideal, however, waves can be found year-round!
In addition to surfing, Weligama is a place rich in culture and tradition. Its local market, small beachside restaurants, and authentic atmosphere make this town a special place for those who want to immerse themselves in the Sri Lankan way of life.
Our camp is located inside a beautiful colonial residence, surrounded by tropical vegetation and just a few minutes’ walk from the best spots in Weligama. After your surf sessions, you can relax in our lounge, furnished with comfortable couches and spaces designed for relaxation and meet new friends from all over the world.
We offer hearty breakfasts each day and 5 dinners a week, prepared by our chefs, with a mix of local and international specialties to ensure you have the energy to take on the waves.
Included in the package you will also find daily yoga classes, which are essential for improving strength, flexibility and connection with your surroundings.
