El Salvador is a perfect year-round surfing destination, with miles of coastline offering right-handed point breaks, reef breaks, a-frames and beach breaks, suitable for all levels.
There is no need to worry about the wet season, as rainfall is mainly concentrated at night and onshore wind arrives only in the late afternoon. During the day, conditions are always optimal, with quality waves and offshore wind or no wind at all.
El Salvador’s point breaks are simply amazing, with perfect, endless right-hand waves. The coast boasts more than twelve world-class spots, including Punta Roca, where waves break for more than 500 meters in the best conditions.
During the wet season, from May to November, waves are more consistent and usually exceed head height, with swells reaching up to 8-12 feet.
Mornings are always calm, with calm waters and a light offshore wind that only begins to blow in the early afternoon.
In the dry season, the waves are smaller, between 2 and 4 feet, but still of great quality, offering perfect days for quiet, uncrowded surfing.
