The coast of J-Bay, South Africa has impressive wave consistency and quality, especially from April to September, when Jeffrey’s Bay spots are at their best!
J-bay is where warm Indian Ocean currents meet cold Atlantic waters, creating unique conditions perfect for surfing! Between April and September, low pressures move around the Cape of Good Hope and generate swells that turn over Cape St. Francis and enter Jeffrey’s Bay, creating what is considered the most beautiful right-of-way in the world. In fact, in July the WCT Billabong Pro J-Bay stage takes place, where the best surfers in the world come to town and put on a show with their surfing!
There are a few small nature reserves in this area, such as the Kabeljous Estuary and Nature Reserve, which is a reserve accessible from a beach that is safe for swimming and has a wide variety of fish, birds and other small animals.

| Magnatubes Probably the heaviest wave in Jbay, with unpredictable, fast and powerful waves. Suitable only for experienced surfers. |  |
| Boneyards The upper section of Supertubes. Breaks both left and right, on reef bottom with shallow water. Sanctuary spot for Jbay locals. Best to avoid surfing here. |  |
| Supertubes The most famous wave in South Africa! Right point on reef, very fast, powerful, long and as the name suggests, with big tubes! Here, the stage of the WCT BILLABONG JBAY world circuit is held every July. Suitable for experts. |  |
| Tubes Further down Supertubes, we come across a fun tubing wave, aptly named Tubes. Short and intense wave, perfect for avid tube surfers! |  |
| Point The first wave to be surfed at Jeffreys Bay in the 1960s. Smaller right point than Super and Boneyards, but longer and softer, good for maneuvering. Spot suitable for intermediate and experienced sufists. |  |
| Albatross One of the least crowded spots in Jbay. Right wave similar to the Point, but with far fewer people. Suitable for all levels. |  |
| Main Beach Beach break with scattered peaks, affordable for everyone. Great spot for surf school. |  |
| Bruce’s Beauties In the St. Francis Bay area. Very good quality spot, comparable to Supertubes. Fast, steep and powerful waves. Suitable for experienced surfers. |  |
| Seal Point In the St. Francis Bay area. Spot for all levels, with fairly soft, long waves. |  |
