Surfspot North Area:
Shacks: Very fast, well-formed left that breaks on a sharp reef and can become very hollow.
Shifty’s is the most consistent beachbreak in the area. It is completely sandy on the bottom and works both left and right, making it suitable for all levels of surfers, from beginners to advanced.
Las Flores is ideal for beginners, even when the waves are very big. The waves here are always suitable for learning to surf and having fun, offering a calmer experience for those just starting out.
Punta Miramar is a left pointbreak reef that can accommodate the most powerful swells in the area. The outer reef is the most challenging swell on big swell days from the south. Recommended at low tide.
La Derechita It is a super fun and constant wave.
Puerto Sandino: World-class wave is one of the largest spots in Nicaragua, located at the mouth of the river.
Salinas Grandes is a magical place, always deserted, with many points stretching along the 3-mile beach. It is always a good option when the swells are less important, working well with all tides.
El Transito: beachbreak that works well with small to medium strength swells.
The Pier offers long righties, which usually channel into barrels, working well at all tides. Less suggested at low tide because of the presence of rocks. At significant swells it becomes challenging creating bars and sections suitable for intermediate to advanced surfers.
