Most of Portugal’s professional surfers come from Ericeira…there must be a reason!
The school guarantees high technical training and special attention to safety. Surfing lessons are planned day by day according to the level of the participants and weather conditions.
Ericeira has many breaks ideal for beginners who want to learn, but also perfect righties and lefties on reefs for more experienced surfers. The main spot is right next to the camp, but within a radius of about 20km there are many other spots. Surf School is organized in 2 appointments per day of 1.5 hours of instruction. The rest of the day you can practice the teachings on your own if conditions are good for surfing without an instructor.
Our surf school was founded by a professional surfer and a former international surf competition judge. Guided by their passion and knowledge of surfing, they have trained their instructors to give the most professional and efficient lessons with fun and safety in the water.
Depending on your surfing level and ocean conditions, you will join different groups once on the surf spot. The lesson for the beginner group (max 6 people per instructor) is held in a safe indoor area where you can practice all the basic surfing techniques while enjoying your first rides on a wave. If you prefer to join the intermediate group (max 4 people per instructor), you’ll paddle up to the line up and catch green waves, learning how to perform your first maneuvers and feel comfortable among other surfers.
The main spot of our surf lessons is Ribeira D’Ilhas, one of the most famous waves in Europe and home of many important competitions.
