Level 1 (beginner)
Perhaps this is your first time surfing or you have already tried a few times, but you still lack the confidence to go out and catch slightly bigger waves on your own. Maybe you need extra support to perfect your technique and want to deepen your surfing knowledge. If so, this level is perfect for you!
You will learn all the basics of surfing in a safe and supportive environment. You will learn about surfing equipment, safety information, and surfing etiquette. You will also learn how the wind, tide, waves and currents interact with each other and how they affect the waves you surf. Together with your surf coach we will make sure you perfect your technique as you practice on smaller waves, building your surfing knowledge and becoming confident enough to catch the wave of your dreams!
By the end of this level you will be able to catch a good selection of waves and understand the dangers of surfing and currents. You will be able to practice enough paddling, board control, standing, correcting your balance position and even begin to do small maneuvers.
Level 2 (intermediate)
You have surfed many times before, but you still don’t feel confident paddling to catch green, unbroken waves. You have good paddling technique and have already acquired basic surfing knowledge (waves, winds, currents, etc.) If you are ready to take your surfing skills to the next level, this level is for you: let’s work on catching that wave you’ve always dreamed of!
Here we will focus more on catching unbroken green waves. We will continue to hone all your skills and make sure you are completely comfortable with choosing and catching the right wave. You will learn how to read tide charts along with wave forecasts and understand how to determine the best time to surf. You will learn what is the best area and safest place to enter, paddle, surf the waves and join the line up. We will focus more on video coaching and video analysis after surf lessons.
Once you complete this level, you will be able to catch green waves unassisted, face other surfers on the line, catch waves to your right and left, and start generating speed on waves.
Level 3 (advanced intermediate)
At this point you surf regularly, have gained a lot of experience, and are able to catch waves on your own left and right. You know how to paddle safely, get to the start line, and feel comfortable with other surfers nearby. You feel ready to start making more incisive maneuvers. If all this is true, then this level is for you and we have the perfect training methodology to help you get there!
Here you will focus on your surfing performance and start with more powerful maneuvers. You will get personalized coaching through a continuous cycle of in-depth video analysis, review and feedback.
We will focus on timing and mastering a powerful takeoff, reading and wave selection to get the most out of each surf session. Bottom and top turns, cut backs and re-entry maneuvers will be introduced. As in previous levels, we will dive even deeper into surfing knowledge. By the end of this level, you will be self-contained surfers with the skills and confidence to have fun and enjoy surfing in all conditions.
